Derar Abdel- Qader

Derar is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Petra and Consultant Pharmacotherapist (Infectious Diseases). He is an education entrepreneur, enthusiastic researcher, and speaker on patient safety and infectious diseases. Derar has been a leading COVID-19 pandemic champion nationally and regionally for the last few years. Derar’s work has been instrumental in combating COVID-19 pandemic misinformation, treating and vaccinating people, and saving thousands of patients' lives. 

Maisam Akroush

Social Action Award , Royal College of Physicians

Maisam is the first female Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in Jordan and the Vice President of the MTCC society, which promotes cancer awareness. Her continued mission is to inspire and encourage more women to take on leadership roles in the healthcare sector as she is the Founder/President of the Pan Arab Women Physicians Association—an innovative initiative in the Arab World. 

Jumana Matouq

Science and Sustainability Award , University of Leeds

Dr. Jumana is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the German Jordanian University, where she is also the first female Assistant Professor in the department since the University's founding in 2005. Additionally, she focuses on enhancing education, improving health and community service through her research projects in biomedical engineering, specifically, health-related real-life problems, and being an inspirational model for her students. 

Khawla Abu Hammour

Science and Sustainability Award   , Queen's University Belfast-UK

 Khawla Abu Hammour, as a professor in clinical pharmacy at the University of Jordan and director of the pharmacy department at a teaching hospital, her primary role is to educate and train future pharmacists, ensuring they have a solid foundation in clinical pharmacy practice. Moreover, she impacts her profession and community by improving patient outcomes, promoting evidence-based practices, and fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals.  

Faten Obeidat

Science and Sustainability Award   , University of Southampton

Faten currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Jordan and the Assistant Dean for Graduate Affairs. She is actively involved in ongoing projects approved by the Ministry of Health, focusing on evaluating and expanding Jordan's newborn hearing screening program. Faten is pivotal in advancing audiology and balance disorder research and education in Jordanian universities.
