Comprised of notable individuals, the panel of judges for the 2025 Study UK Alumni Awards in Jordan consists of those who are actively working towards creating a positive impact in their respective fields. 

Alexander Lambert

 Since joining the British Council in 2012, Alex has held a range of posts in the Middle East, Africa, the UK, Europe and East Asia. He assumed his current role as Country Director Jordan and Levant Cluster Lead in March 2023, based in Amman, and has since been working with the British Council team to grow and expand its work across Education, English and Arts & Culture for the benefit of young people in Jordan, including marking the British Council’s 75th Anniversary in September 2023. 

 

Nesreen Barakat

HE Mrs Barakat is the CEO of the Jordan Strategy Forum. Previously she was the founder and managing director of To-Excel Consulting. Mrs. Barakat has more than 25 years of professional experience in the areas of economic and social development, working with the government, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector in Jordan.

Mrs. Barakat was awarded the Forbes 200 Most Powerful Arab Women in 2014. 

Thafer Saraira

HE Prof Thafer Y. Assaraira was born in Jordan in 1970. He got his Ph.D. in American Literature in 1998 from Ohio University, USA. He currently works as the Head of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, and he held the position of the President of Mu'tah University from 2016 to 2020. He also was the Vice President of Mu'tah University for International and Quality Affairs from 2013 to 2016 and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts from 2011 up to 2013.
